Mississippi House Minority Leader David Baria addressed the Stennis-Capitol Press Luncheon in January. The Luncheon features prominent state leaders and features a question and answer session with members of the press corps.
Baria addresses a wide range of legislative topics including the need for better roads and bridges and a renewed commitment to education in Mississippi. Baria noted the importance of bipartisanship to solve problems saying, “If we can maintain a level of common decency and communication, I think that would be a vast improvement.”
Created as a service and research arm of Mississippi State University, the John C. Stennis Institute of Government was established in 1976. The Institute seeks to integrate research, service, and teaching activities to improve government in the state, as well as promote the training of students who seek careers in public service.
