(JACKSON, MS) – Democratic candidate for the United States Senate, Rep. David Baria (D-Bay St. Louis) will watch election night returns for the primary campaign with family, friends and volunteers at The Almanett Hotel & Bistro at 1514 18th Avenue in Gulfport beginning at 7 p.m.
Baria said, “I am grateful to the many friends and volunteers who have knocked on doors, made phone calls, written postcards and helped in so many other ways. Campaigns are hard work and I am proud to have been joined in this effort by some of the hardest working people I know.”
Speaking about the Democratic Primary, Baria said, “I believe every candidate in this race has worked very hard to reach voters. I congratulate all the candidates on their effort. One of the things I like about being a Democrat is that we are defined by what we are for rather than what we are against. It has been an honor to be a part of the dialogue with Mississippi Democrats and I am more optimistic than ever about the prospects for our Party.”
Baria is a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Roger Wicker. The Democratic Primary will be held on June 5, 2018.
